“Calmness of mind does not mean you should stop your activity. Real calmness should be found in activity itself…It is easy to have calmness in inactivity, it is hard to have calmness in activity, but calmness in activity is true calmness.”
― Shunryu Suzuki, Zen Mind Beginner’s Mind
The crystals and stones that are believed to enhance the courage, enthusiasm, and independence of the Aries zodiac (“The Ram”) are Bloodstone, Citrine, and Diamond.
Bloodstone’s green and red appearance is distinct and striking, mimicking the dynamic Aries archetype and providing the courage to adjust to unaccustomed circumstances.
As one of the most vibrant varieties of quartz, the Citrine crystal attracts prosperity and success by imparting us with joy, delight, and unparalleled enthusiasm.
Diamond is a natural energy amplifier, effortlessly bestowing the fearlessness needed to rid ourselves of needy tendencies and unleash our true value and pure independence.
Whether you want to buy the three crystals representing Aries for mystical purposes, or you just think they would look cool lying around your house (the reason I buy them), you can find them here.
This is my first ever record player. It’s an Audio-Technica AT-LP60 Bluetooth Record Player in the color Mellow Yellow, which was made in collaboration with Urban Outfitters. At $180, I couldn’t ask for a better quality of performance. There are only four buttons on the turntable – a start button, a stop button, a speed up/slow down button, and a button to set which kind of LP is being played. It’s Bluetooth compatible, but it sounds much better when hooked up to regular speakers (I use a $45 Logitech Speaker System with a Subwoofer). After having used it heavily for almost a year, I have no desire to upgrade to a fancier or more expensive player. This one is affordable, easy-to-use, sounds great, and looks dope. Oh, and in case you were wondering, the pink vinyl pictured here is Disc One of Atlanta based singer-songwriter ABRA’s 2015 LP Rose. You can get it here. It’s one of my favorites.
“We discriminate between life and death in order to affirm one and deny the other and as we have seen our tragedy lies in the paradox, that these two objects are so interdependent. There is no life without death and what we are more likely to overlook there is no death without life. This means our problem is not death, but life-and-death.”

After some internal debate (mostly due to the price), I finally broke down and bought these S’well bottles from Amazon last month. It was worth it. The left bottle is stainless steel, it holds 17 ounces, and it’s Aquamarine. The right bottle is stainless steel, it holds 16 ounces, and it’s Teakwood. The Aquamarine bottle keeps cold stuff cold and the Teakwood bottle keeps hot stuff hot, so you won’t need to throw away half of your drink everyday because it lost it’s intended temperature (speaking from personal experience). Aside from their exceptional functionality, they also look amazing; especially when bought together. The Teakwood really brings out the Aquamarine doesn’t it? I have them displayed in my room when I’m not using them. If you’re interested here is where you’ll find the Aquamarine and here is where you’ll find the Teakwood. Stay hydrated.
The crystals and stones that are believed to enhance the empathy, intuition, and imagination of the Pisces zodiac (“The Fish”) are Aquamarine, Clear Quartz, and Angelite.
With it’s sparkling ocean-like color, Aquamarine acts as the ultimate physical representation of Pisces soothing nature, providing us with the compassion necessary to empathize with people from all walks of life.
Clear Quartz, sometimes referred to as the “master-healer”, is known for strengthening physic abilities by neutralizing background radiation, thus revitalizing the soul and creating a gateway between the spiritual and physical planes.
Because Angelite’s vibration is said to be in touch with higher realms, the stone awakens a powerful form of imagination that can result in exceptional artistic achievements.

“When you are practicing zazen, do not try to stop your thinking. Let it stop by itself. If something comes into your mind, let it come in, and let it go out. It will not stay long. When you try to stop your thinking, it means you are bothered by it. Do not be bothered by anything. It appears as if something comes from outside your mind, but actually it is only the waves of your mind, and if you are not bothered by the waves, gradually they will become calmer and calmer.”
